Sweating over here

Hey Reader!

I always make the mistake of trying to shop for summer clothes in the summer.

The profusion of Halloween décor should be my clue that as far as retail is concerned, summer is over, Labor Day be damned. No matter that there's probably a triple digit heat wave in my near future.

Tank tops are available February to May, and if you’re not thinking ahead you’re not getting one.

I am not a person who plans ahead. Spontaneity is my MO, and after years of trying to improve myself I can tell you that becoming an organized person who is good at logistics is just not in the cards.

Acceptance is the order of the day.

If timing isn't generally your forte either I'll do you a favor and remind you that the price of Power Hour is going up on August 1 and then you'll wish you'd taken more care with the calendar.

Like me trying to find summer gear in July.

And why might you want to purchase Power Hour?

Because it's going to make writing those emails a whole lot easier. Because I'm going to answer every question you have about how best to engage with your peeps, whomever they may be.

It's an hour of one-on-one help, covering any aspect of newsletter-writing you can possibly imagine, from length of email to list cleaning to how to write a good subject line.

And everything in between.

Speaking of list cleaning, it's one of those things you should be doing but may not have gotten around to.

Here's why it's important:

  1. A solid open rate is good for deliverability. The more opens you get the more likely you are to avoid spam filters.
  2. Being realistic is helpful no matter what your business. If you're crowing about your list size, but only 20% of your readers are opening your emails, there's a disconnect. It's helpful to know how many people are actually getting your messages.
  3. It can save you money. Most platforms base their cost on the number of subscribers, so having a lot of deadbeats on your list might push you into a different pricing plan.
  4. It's good for morale! Seeing that over 50% of your readers are in love with your words is good for the soul.

So do it, delete the people who never open your emails.

Don't play that "but someday they might start opening them and become my best customer!" game. The likelihood that an unengaged subscriber will suddenly become your number one client is merely magical thinking.

Fun, but not realistic.

And this is a real business you're running, not a fantasy daydream.

Tough love and practical tips, that's what you get with me and that's what you'll get in your very own Power Hour!

Sign up now to get great pricing and an end to the guesswork.

Yours in telling it like it is,

Julia
